English Language Arts Enrichment 11G (ENGY1G)<br />This course involves the student in strategic reading, writing and learning. This course is designed to meet the needs of students who require additional supports in literacy skills when entering the GRADE 9 program. It is an additional GRADE 9 credit for students who need specific instruction in reading strategies and extra time in terms of language development. English for Academic Success (ENG S4) Grade 12<br />This English course is specifically designed to enable students to advance their skills in interpreting and comprehending content area reading and writing using the following strands: listening, speaking, reading, writing, viewing and representing. Students will interact and communicate with curriculum drawn from Science, Social Studies, Business Education and Mathematics. This is an excellent pre-requisite for students who want to pursue Grade 12 English Composition or EAL students preparing to graduate.<br /><span style="color:red;background-color:#fcc;">EAL (English as an Additional Language)<br />These courses are specifically designed to meet the needs of students whose first language is not English and whose English proficiency is not sufficient to enable them to perform equally with students whose first language is English.
